Grandma and Grandpa Visit

Here are some pics from Grandma and Grandpa's visit this week. It was pretty frigid here, so we spent most of our time indoors. Since Grandma and Grandpa brought toys from P's cousins, there was no shortage of things to do. P has 5 teeth now and is doing laps around the house--she has a runway walk that we are trying to get on video--check back soon :)

Happy 1st Birthday, Miss P/ Happy Labor Day, Mom

Today is P's 1st birthday and I think it is a bigger deal for Mom and Dad than it is for her. We remember her birth day like it was yesterday and we wonder, with weepy eyes, where the year went. We took lots of pics and video, but the year still went by way too fast. Aunt B is here to help celebrate and we decided to go to "The Magic House" (a children's "hands-on-museum"). We had a really nice time. She explored jumbo Legos and enjoyed her first solo slide ride! Later, Miss P enjoyed a birthday cupcake from Ben & Jerry's--she played with the sprinkles and tasted some waffle cone. Here are some pics of the day. She is a pretty amazing little girl and we are looking forward to all of the fun we'll have this year!

Crazy Christmas

We had a lot of stress this holiday as we had a car accident with a hit-and-run driver and moved into a new house a week later a few days before Christmas. We'll spare everyone the accident details and hit the highlights:

Damage to our car: $6k

2 ER visits for A and P: $200

3 days of missed work: $350

The fact that no one was seriously injured: PRICELESS

The accident was scary, no doubt, but in the end we are all healthy and safe and that is all that matters. As for our new house, we couldn't be happier. It is a really cute, little brick bungalow located 20 minutes outside of SL. We moved in the day before Christmas Eve and managed to get a tiny tree with lights for P's first Christmas. She had a great time ripping boxes and packaging. She got her first babydoll from Grandma and Grandpa and she really likes it a lot. We hope everyone had a great holiday and we wish y0u all a Happy 2008! (P will be one year old this week--time flies crazy quick).

P's First Steps!!!

P took her first steps about a month ago and has been enjoying bipedal travel ever since! She is really steady now and has reached the milestone of bending over to pick something up without falling down. It is a whole new world for her and a whole new world of babyproofing for mom and dad! R tried to entice her to walk with a picture of her favorite animal--a hedgehog. She didn't take the bait until puppy Emma lead the way. Luckily, I had my camera at the ready and caught the footage. Enjoy.
