Adventures in Dining

Here are some recent pics of Paige at her favorite watering holes. She is quite adept at utensil action and loves to ham it up at dinnertime. Enjoy...

P Busts a Move

Recently P has become a huge fan of the "Freecreditreport.com" commercials--you know the ones that were annoying at first but then became kind of catchy? You know you sing along too, admit it. Anyway, whenever P hears the tunes (on the tv, or more recently on YouTube) she busts a move. She'll stop whatever she is doing and become transfixed...then her hips sway...then she gallops ecstatically in a circle. It's quite amusing. So, here is a video clip of her moves--keep in mind this was recorded aprox. 30 minutes into her YouTube dance marathon. She's slowing down a bit, but still groovin'. You can hear her say "Emma" in the beginning and request Rich to replay the video with "More? More." Enjoy.

History in the Making

We were up at the crack of dawn this morning to be among the first to vote in this historic election (that's why we look so tired). Miss P helped Mommy hold the pen to vote for the B-Man and Daddy snapped a couple pics of the event. Here is a random rally pic and Miss P showing she is too excited about the election to watch any poll numbers rolling in on the tv. Oh, in unrelated news, Mommy finished her dissertation this week and has a defense scheduled for 12/12...keep the faith! This is an exciting week to be sure!

TRICK OR TREAT!

This past Friday marked Miss P's first Halloween where she got to go trick-or-treatin'. She was an Iowa Hawkeye cheerleader (big surprise there). Thankfully the weather here was balmy so she was able to romp freely unencumbered by long johns :) She had pom poms, too! Daddy captured some great pics, including her first trick-or-treat house next door. Our special pumpkins were quite the hit, too.

Grab your popcorn, it is showtime!

After much editing I was able to get this video to a size this blog would accept :) Behold the Feature Presentation: "Raking with Miss P"

Oops on the video

Ok, so the video won't load--the server seems to time-out before the full thing posts. So, I'll work on it this week and hopefully get it loaded soon. Stay tuned...

Autumnal Pleasures

One of the mixed blessings of living in an older, established neighborhood
are the quaint tree-lined streets. The trees on our street are very large
and FULL of leaves that never seem to stop dropping. We have an extremely
large oak tree in our front yard that is keeping us busy this fall. P
always wants to help, so we shot a video of her leaf-raking prowess (she is
getting quite adept at the task). If you listen closely, you can here
ask: "What is it/this?" It is her new phrase. Here are some
additional pics of P hanging out on the front step with her pumpkin and trying
on a jaunty new chapeau. No thoughts on what she'll be for Halloween yet;
stay tuned for updates...

More P and Politics

We have been making the rounds this week in support of Obama's campaign. On Saturday we were part of the record setting 100,000 crowd at Obama's St. Louis Rally. Tonight, we went to see Bill Clinton at a downtown high school. We made lots of new friends and P seemed to enjoy the excitement of the crowds. Here are some event pics. Don't forget to vote on Nov. 4th :)

Politics and Pigtails

It has been a busy couple of months and we've neglected our blog :( School has started back up and we are busy volunteering for the Obama campaign (Note: bringing a baby when you canvas immediately diffuses pissy McCain supporters and some will actually listen to you!). P's hair is finally getting long enough to enjoy some serious accessorizing! Check out the 3 pigtail/ponytail combo in these pics. We hope everyone is well!

E--I--E--I--O

P had a really great time visiting her cousins' farm in South Dakota. Sometimes she was a little overwhelmed, though. We think she'll get on a horse next summer for her first ride. We also went to a local county fair and P got to ride in a tractor train with her cousin. A couple of the videos are from Mommy's cellphone, so they are a little grainy. We are trying to figure out how to transfer the video from the camcorder. Unfortunately, a small tornado went through town the week after we left and the two barns on the farm were destroyed. Fortunately, none of the animals (or people) were injured.

Family Ties

Family Ties

The scrapbook page may not load here, but if you click on the "full size" option, it will take you to the scrapblog page for viewing. Mommy and P went to South Dakota for 10 days to visit extended family. This was the first time the family got to meet Miss P and she had a great time! She especially enjoyed visiting her cousins' farm and meeting all kinds of animals. Videos and pics of the days on the farm coming soon.

Lazy Sunday Afternoon

We enjoyed a laid back Sunday afternoon this weekend and took some pics of P around the house. We also took some outdoor pics while she played with her soccer ball and Little Tikes outdoor garden. We had cool weather this weekend, so it was a nice change of pace. P played hard and was ready for a nap after picture time :)

Splish Splash: More Pool Pics

Here are some more pool pics--we took these with the digital camera, so the quality should be better. There's a short video clip, too. P is really enjoying pool time and she is gaining a lot of confidence in the water. She walked in the pool until she was up to her armpits in H20-literally :)

Summertime and the Livin' is Easy...

Here are several pics from this summer so far:

"Get your motor runnin'"--P loves her "big wheel in training"

P learns to "walk" puppy Emma

P sports the polo-shirt her Grandpa picked out and the tank-top her Grandma picked out when we went shopping together

She loves putting things on her head and creating new "hat fashions"

P at the Pool and other Pics

P has been hitting the pool this summer and having a lot of fun. She is learning how to BBQ and enjoying the nice weather. We have a pretty cool family pool in the neighborhood with a lazy river, slides, and kiddie pool with an "in-water" treehouse playground (this is what P is pointing at in the video). The videos are a little grainy because they are from our cellphones. More pool footage to follow... Happy summer everyone!
